Woodbury Commons, just one hour from the city in the town of Harriman, at the base of Bear Mountain, is a singular shopping destination for this area.
Not only are there high end outlets like YSL and Chanel, but it's home to the only Diane Von Furstenberg outlet in the country, where beautiful dresses that originally cost 200-700 dollars can be purchased for half that (or sometimes even less if they're marked down).
You can also stop by Oshkosh, and this Spring, take a look at the first collection I've worked on for them.
Other highlights are the aforementioned YSL, where everything is still too expensive for me – but lovely to look at – and Saks Fifth Avenue – Off 5th, a store that often has some nice pieces, but not at the bargain you'd find in other Off 5ths.
I recommend you eat before hand, as the food selections are second rate, and I highly recommend a hike through Doodletown (this week's place to visit) afterwords.
