Don't fault it for ushering in reality TV and certainly don't expect it to have any resemblance to The Girls Next Door. In this nobel experiment documentarian Paul Almond followed the lives of fourteen British children starting at the age of seven and revisiting every seven years. The kids were chosen for their varied socioeconomic backgrounds to determine how much class dictates childrens' futures. The latest in the series, 49 Up, was shown in theaters last year and the series was recently released in its entirety on DVD and is worth a lengthy watch. An American version of the series was also began in 1992, but is harder to find.
But what do you think?
