The first paragraph of The Dirt ends like this:
“But Tommy … would not break up with her. He loved her and wanted to marry her … because she could spray her cum across the room.”
If that peaks your interest you will enjoy this guilty pleasure with it's sexual exploits, over doses, bitch fights and a part where Ozzy Osbourne snorts a line of ants and licks up Nikki Sixx's pee, But! if you find it offensive and don't want to read 400 pages along the same theme, skip it.
For those still with me, don't worry, you do not have to be a fan of Motley Crue to read this decadent and depraved “autobiography”. I use quotes, because who knows how much is true; although I suspect a lot more than A Million Little Pieces, but they don't have to worry about the wrath of Oprah because there is no way this is making it into her book club.
Even the band members can't agree on the facts, so double kudos to Neil Strauss for not only working with these impossible monster idiots, but creating from their memories a cohesive, thoroughly entertaining and yes, very dirty book.
The experience of reading this, an ultimate summer read, is what inspired the whole heavy metal theme this week. Once you have read it, you will be ready for more so here, here, here, and here are some videos.
