Books »The Chocolate War

the chocolate warNot to be confused with Chocolate Fever, or “Fudge Freckles” as I was calling it one night with one drink too many (an unintentionally hilarious mix between Superfudge and Freckle Juice).

The Chocolate War by Robert Cormier book is for young adults which means you can chuckle at the idea of the sleek business men who look over your shoulders in the subway finding huge type face reading, “At night in bed, he could have one without even touching himself, just thinking of her. And now her birthday was tomorrow and he had to buy her the present she wanted…”

In all seriousness, though, it only takes a day or two to read, and if you missed this book the first time around, it is worth a look. I found myself surprisingly engrossed and affected. It is also listed as the fourth most challenged book by censors by The ALA.
