Wow, not since Huey Lewis have I recommended an album with more radio hits. It's hard to believe”Good Times Roll”, “My Best Friend's Girl”, and “Just What I Needed” are all on one album. But don't forget the little guys. “Moving In Stereo” is a solid atmospheric new wave song. Ushering a new age with their mix of rock and pop, intelligence and humor, Rik Ocasek, Elliot Easton, Greg Hawkes, Benjamin Orr, and David Robinson made everyone a little happier back in 1978 with their infectious grooves.
The songs still sound fresh today, no matter how many new wave compilations they've been on. Like many of my peers, I grew up listening to the Cars. My interest peaked a couple years after this release when the video of “You Might Think” was released and it blew our minds with the surreal special effects, beginning something that Dire Straits ran with.
The Cars are a unique band that couldn't help but touch anyone growing up in the eighties, they are classic, catchy and, most of all, fun.
But what do you think?
