I was so thrilled to find this sunhat from iPlay on Amazon. The summer sun can be dangerous, especially if your baby’s as super white as Van is. This wide brim hat made of 50 SPF fabric keeps him protected.
I’m not shocked that I’ve seen tons of little ones sporting the same one and have moms asking where I got mine. Most places offer nothing but flimsy hats with tiny brims that do little to block out the rays.
Plus, it’s adorable.
This is a summer must have!
And excuse our absence. We are on vacation!!
There are a number of adorable baby things with animal ears but these hand made ones from Sweetpeatoad Tots are exceptionally cute. This wool lamb hat is the sole reason I don’t want the cold weather to end.
Visit their Etsy Shop – they make a great gift if you have any babies coming into the world soon. Ours was a generous gift from my brother and sister in law. Cute stuff!
It just doesn’t feel like the holidays without one!!
In the neighborhood, Jim prefers the tree spot on McGuinness and Greenpoint Ave where there are Germans and hippies to help you as opposed to the “vagabonds” on Manhattan and Calyer. We went all out at the Big D (one of the largest local dime stores) for decorations on the cheap.
In the chaos of the last month, I forgot to send out this amazing, awesome Birth Announcement that my dad illustrated for Van’s arrival. Thanks Dad!!
I’ve spared my loyal readers the thousands of photos I’ve been taking of my amazing love bug, but some, like this angelic shot my mom took are just too precious not to share.
My big blue eyed baby boy made his arrival Sunday, October 24th at 10:29 am!!!!
He’s lovely and perfect and home with mommy and daddy.
He’s got his grandma’s eyes and we think he looks exactly like a baby version of Simon Pegg, which is pretty funny.
He might have a cleft chin and was born with ash blond hair that looks like it could have some wave to it.
We’ve learned that he really does love Leonard Cohen (just like he seemed to in utero) and have used this secret weapon for soothing.
Brixpicks entries will be sporadic for the next few weeks as we settle in and probably feature lots of photos of Mr. Van Malcolm Sanders.
Speaking of which, there are many, many below/after the jump of his first days. We love him so very, very much.
