The Beatles are almost universally accepted as the greatest rock and roll band of all time, so I can only imagine how exciting it must have been to hear them for the first time.
My mom remembers it vividly and, like many fans, still knows every word to their first album. For those that prefer the later, more tripped out Beatles, I wouldn't dismiss Please Please Me for its innocence and poppiness.
It has actually aged really, really well and despite lots of over played songs, songs that are still great any ways like “Do You Want to Know a Secret”, this is still refreshing and holds a couple lesser played gems like Misery and A Taste of Honey. It's easy to let go and become enchanted with this album once you put it on.
