Farmer is famous for his groundbreaking sci-fi work, but Nothing Burns is pure pulp brilliance. He takes traditional noir with its witty and gruff dialogue, but adds a unique touch to the genre – a ninety two year old femme fatale, mutant hicks, a nagging wiccan wife, etc.
A very humorous but still fairly violent mystery that takes place in Peoria, Illinois. A quick and satisfying read. My only complaint is that this never turned into a series.
But what do you think?
