I don't know how to describe Mugison and neither, it seems, does anyone else. One of the reasons may be the distinct differences between the tracks, not a one sounds like any other, and yet the entire oddly titled album feels like a single experience.
Mugison is a handsome Icelander that was once a real life sailor. My friend gave me this album to try out, he helps run the label that released it, and I was surprised to find I enjoy it very much. I didn't know what I expected, but no matter what expectations one might have, this album will obliterate them.
At times it sounds like a peaceful and personal lullaby, at times a hectic soundscape, but always interesting and always good. I am excited to have been introduced. Thanks, Shaun!
But what do you think?
