Talking Heads is well documented. Their career is brimming with exciting albums and this one, which does indeed have songs about buildings and food on it, is one of their classic bests. There's more to it than the radio hits, although they are awesome. Did you know 'Take me to the river' is an Al Green cover? I didn't. 'Warning Sign', 'Found a Job' and 'The Big Country' are all tops.
While this album didn't reach the kind of success they may have been hoping for, it transformed the band from local CBGB darlings to the hippest guys and gal in town. They took their influence from punk, world, funk and pop music but sound completely one-of-a-kind. This album is Byrne and team at their most vitriolic; full off piss and vinegar and I love it!
But what do you think?
