If there ever were a competitor to Blue Star's dashing and brazen hipness, it's the stalwart fancy restaurant on the hill, The Pepper Tree. With it's bow tie waiters, it's the old money to Blue Star's nouveau riche, the Tom Buchanan to Blue Star's Jay Gatsby. Or maybe I'm taking the analogy too far. Suffice it to say, they both have top billing as the place to go for fancy and romantic.
But my dad wants me to tell you about one element in which the Pepper Tree surpasses all others. Their lemon drop martini. He swears by it and claims he's never had better, and I am not about to call him a liar. But I do hope he plans on proving it the next time I visit home
