It makes sense that Kiss of the Spider Woman made the leap to stage and film. The entire books is written in dialogue (along with scientific footnotes) between two ostensibly very different men sharing a cell together in Argentina.
Molena is a homosexual in jail for corruption of a minor who entertains his cellmate, Valentin, a revolutionary, by retelling b-movies from memory. Seemingly this would be a tough read, with its lack of description, heavy foot notes, and retelling of existing stories, but I found it engrossing and complex.
