Eccentric is the word most used to describe Ayers, and Joy of a Toy is certainly that; but more than that, it is enchanting and distinctive. Lady Rachel, Girl on a Swing, and Song for Insane Times are stand outs in an overall masterpiece of an album.
In many ways is a very gentle listening experience, the songs almost drift through you, but it hits some very strange and sometimes sinister notes as well. A most satisfying find from a unique vision and voice.
