This narrow grocery carries one of my most favorite treats ever, the greek cod roe, lemon, olive oil whipped spread – Taramasalta. $2.50 gets you half a pound – which I could eat in one sitting if I had no self control.
There are other goodies in International Grocery, including a pretty amazing looking marinated octopus, several enticing versions of havala, homemade baklava and spinach pies, as well as barrels of exotic spices, grains, and olives.
The service is very friendly, the location convenient if you work in midtown, and the possibilities of culinary experimenting are endless.
But what do you think?
