In 1993 Dolly wanted to make an album in traditional female vocal country sound, the result is the uneven (as in sometimes over-produced) Honky Tonk Angels. I Forgot More (Than You'll Ever Know About Him) is its biggest success.
A defiant ballad for the broken hearted, these queens of country do the classic song (also sung by Kitty Wells in 1968) justice… More than justice, the song is the performed to melancholy plaintive perfection, just the way a sad country song should be.
All three ladies, despite being “past their prime” as far as popularity and record sales sound like angels. A must listen for fans.
But what do you think?
