A monument of stone and stained glass to eccentricity and lavish creativity. The castle was built by William Gillette, an actor made famous by his portrayal of Sherlock Holmes on stage. It took five years to construct and came with its own miniature, but ridable, train complete with a Grand Central Terminal which is still standing although, sadly, only bits of the trains tracks remain.
Go soon, on the weekends of November 25 & 26, December 2 & 3, 9 & 10 and 16 & 17, to me exact. The interior will be decorated in a Victorian Holiday Celebration style.
But what do you think?
