Sometimes you can get too used to a place to appreciate why you keep coming back. There is nothing outstanding about the Company Bar. It smells like a bar, is dark like a bar, houses drunks like a bar… but there is also not a single thing offensive or annoying, ever, which is in itself unique.
You can always get a seat, the beers are two for one until nine, the music ranges from ok to great but is never too loud to be annoying, and the patrons, even the nutty drunks, are doing their own thing.
Plus the location is always convenient, at least for me to get home. All this put together turns an average bar into a New York rarity, a simple bar that I can't think of a single thing to complain about.
But what do you think?
