I started working in midtown a few years ago, and once I realized 2.50 is not a good deal on a cup of coffee, decided to start getting coffee from my local vendor, a very nice Eastern European man. I felt like a real New Yorker the day I no longer had to place my order because I was a “regular”. Every morning we chat about the weather, the weekend, his dogs, etc. and I couldn't think of a more pleasant start to a work day. It certainly beats the service I recently got at Starbucks down the street :
Me: “One tall vanilla latte”, register girl “One tall vanilla latte”, coffee maker “One tall vanilla latte BUUURRPP!!”.
But what do you think?
