It is nearly impossible to imagine the world of fashion without the influence of Christian Dior . He took the severity of the 1940's, which, speaking in generalizations, is one of my least favorite eras in fashion, and brought back the femininity of fashion with his still inspirational “New Look” of 1947.
His house carried on being helmed by St. Laurent, Gianfranco Ferre, and presently, John Galliano, after his possibly somewhat sordid death. To be honest, tough, I am finding few people who make my style icon list that didn't have something sordid in their life, (is there a connection?)
But what do you think?
