Around the same time that cocaine was burning a whole in her nose, creative thoughts of Leather and Lace were burning a hole in Nicks' soul. So many ideas were filling her brain she had to venture on her own to express them on this, her first solo album.
It's a magnificent record with the familiar hits and duets us Stevie fans die for “Stop Draggin My Heart Around”, “Edge of Seventeen”, and “Leather and Lace” are all on this album. But don't overlook the less well known ones. True “After The Glitter Fades” doesn't quite live up to it's beyond fantastic title, but “Bella Donna” and “Outside The Rain” are really good quieter songs that are worth rediscovering, or hearing for the first time.
To many drag queens, tarot readers, and me Stevie is Queen and this album is proof that she deserves her throne.
But what do you think?
