Not since Amon Duul II have I been so utterly taken with a band and album. I should have known Os Mutantes were going to be great when my friend Leigh mentioned that I just had to listen to them. He's a guy always on the verge the coolest thing and even though Os Mutantes are over thirty years old, they are in demand once more with a tour that included a show at Webster Hall the other week.
It makes sense this previously mostly unheard of band has had a resurgence of popularity. The fun, summery, psychedelic, samba, pop music is very contemporary yet other worldly. You won't stop listening to this album once you start. Perfect to wear a bikini to.
