I’ve said before, you are going to see a lot of Jack Vance on my picks. Criminally overlooked, he is one of my favorite writers, science fiction or not. Tales is the book that started it all for me. Consisting of four novels written over thirty plus years, the two best books are – “Eyes of the Overworld” and “Cugel’s Saga“. Both focus on Cugel the Clever, a conniving anti-hero. This is one of the books where I light up and can’t stop telling my favorite bits when it comes up in conversations. I only wish more people would give this book a try, even if they don’t like science fiction (which I usually don’t either) – and know what I am so excited about.
