We all know how disturbing it's been watching Michael Jackson's career and life spiral into the madness and bedlam it's become. Much like seeing baby grow into… well someone like Michael Jackson. Before the proposed giant robotic statue that would shoot lasers into the sky, the trials, and Lisa Marie, however, he left behind some undeniably great stuff and, in my opinion, Off the Wall is the greatest.
The first solo effort by Jackson to gain recognition and become a break out hit, Off the Wall features two fantastic hits: “Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough” and “Rock with You“. Put either of these on at a party and there is guaranteed to be some dancing fun. “Girlfriend” is a Paul McCartney penned piece of innocent, young love perfection. My other favorite songs on the disco inspired album “Off The Wall” and “Working Day And Night” are less played good time anthems made for the working man who needs to “leave that nine to five upon the shelf, And just enjoy yourself”. This album is the perfect accompaniment to such merriment.
